...we don't want Susan Collins as a Democrat; we've enough problems with her pal Joe Lieberman (Insurance - CT). The entire point is that she is not really a moderate in any true sense, she's just the least ultra-conservative Republican in a far right party that poises as moderate in a few "vote-ops" for enough voters in her home state to be fooled into believing they have an independent thinker.

Good point, Mr Cutler should speak up.

veto budget measures - it's in the freakin' Charter:

The Mayor shall...have power to veto any severable portion of any appropriation order other than the City budget

And:

The Mayor shall review, but not revise, said budget,

The City Manager runs Waterville, not the Mayor. LePage doesn't even keep regular office hours.

She works to change the proposals of a far left President but often ends up voting for the modified proposals. Your real complaint is she is not a Democrat. She doesn't claim to be a Democrat.

and have watched LePage as Mayor. He has played a huge role in reducing taxes and holding the line on spending in Waterville. He has spoken out against spending proposals with which he has disagreed and threatened vetoes to push the Council to adopt a budget that LePage could support. I don't think any objective observer would dispute that taxes and spending in Waterville would be higher if the city had a Democrat Mayor over the last six years.

I wonder what Eliot Cutler thinks about this.

I think Manning has a gripe with LePage and his attacks. However, I am getting sick of Manning trying to tar the tea party movement in Maine with LePage. Some of the tea party participants voted for him and support him, but not all do. Don't blame the tea party movement for LePage's imploding campaign, he has done that on his own.
