I never Lived throught the 1930s

Though I never lived in Germany through the 1930s, I bet a Nazi youth meeting just might have sounded something like this . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Doesn't any of this worry you?

Yeah, when one views the video (0.00 / 0)
it certainly looks bad. Of course, without any sort of context.

Watch it again with the idea that the boy is teaching his teacher a song he himself wrote. Put in happy music, and a "Atta boy, Johnny!" at the end.

And it may well be that the teacher taught the students.

But without any context, who's to know? Find a news report about it. I tried. Perhaps you will be more successful. The school's name is there - call them, ask about it. Report back to us your findings.

What would you say if it were your children ? (0.00 / 0)
Had it been your elementary school child singing praises to "GW Bush" to the tune of "Jesus Loves The Little Children", I'm sure all your collective heads would have exploded. http://www.associatedcontent.c...

This isn't a news article, but an opinion (0.00 / 0)
piece. Find a news article or call the freakin' school and find out what really happened. If you have time to visit here, you have time to make the call.

I have e-mailed the school (0.00 / 0)
and am waiting for their response.

See... you can tell the difference... (0.00 / 0)

In phrasing like this:

In this case the kids appear to be students at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, New Jersey.

If it was news story, and therefore it could be supposed that the article's premise is based on factual information --   maybe a cause for worry. But an opinion piece is inherently biased -- yes, that most definitely includes my writing.

When asked what he thought of western civilization, Gandhi replied, "I think it would be a good idea."

Hmm.... (0.00 / 0)

Paranoia....

When asked what he thought of western civilization, Gandhi replied, "I think it would be a good idea."

So I happened on this today (0.00 / 0)
which is hardly definitive: scrutiny rises over NJ kids singing Obama song. But it does include this:

The source of the video is not entirely clear. In Malkin's column, she said it was posted in June on the YouTube channel of author Charisse Carney-Nunes, who wrote the children's book "I Am Barack Obama."

The song medley was presented to Carney-Nunes, who had been invited to the school, as a demonstration of a project the children had put together, her public relations firm said in a statement.

"Charisse feels it is unfortunate that an event put together with sincere intentions to encourage literacy while celebrating the contributions of African Americans to our great nation has become political fodder and hopes cooler heads will prevail," the hoverFly media statement said.

Again, context is important, and we may never really learn that.

It's funny... (0.00 / 0)

But this is exactly the type of example that occurred to me when I first saw the video.. that of a tribute to some visiting personage seemed most likely to me.

When asked what he thought of western civilization, Gandhi replied, "I think it would be a good idea."
